The Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Moh. Nasir, M.Si., Ak., PhD., CA., visited Tadulako University to directly inspect the written test session of SBMPTN (Joint Entrance Test for State Universities) 2017.
In his visit, the Minister is accompanied by Directorate General of Higher Education’s Director of Learning and Student Affairs, Prof. Intan Ahmad, PhD; the Chairman of SNMPTN-SBMPTN 2017, Prof. Dr. Ravik Karsidi, M.S; the Rector of Tadulako University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muh. Basir Cyio, S.E., M.S.; the Head of SBMPTN Working Group, Prof. Budi; and several officials of Tadulako University.
After reviewing the implementation of SBMPTN 2017, Prof. Nasir, in his press conference in Senate Room, 3rd floor of Rectorate Office Building of Tadulako University, said SBMPTN 2017 was joined by 797,738 participants consisting of 776,878 people participated in paper based test and the remaining 20,860 people took computer based test.
“They will compete for only 128,085 available chairs in all state universities in this country. The selection was also joined by 263 applicants with disabilities. We provide them excellent services including companion if they need,” said Prof. Nasir.
The Minister also stated that the implementation of SBMPTN in Local Committee 83 Tadulako University went well. It was validated after Prof Nasir, the Chairman of SBMPTN, the rector, and all officials team observed the test session in Tadulako University.
“Alhamdulillah, the implementation of SBMPTN ran well even though we found some empty chairs during the test session. It could possibly happen, not because of a big deal. The applicants might register earlier before knowing they passed the SNMPTN (first cycle of state university entrance selection). Besides, they might also consider to change the study program they selected before and reregister with the new one. In general, based on the direct report I have received related to the implementation of SBMPTN in all state universities in Indonesia, the test was successfully managed,” explained Prof. Nasir.

The Minister also added that computer-based test in Tadulako University went smoothly. This successfulness represented a well-built IT system.
“Furthermore, the CBT in all universities in Indonesia performed greatly as well. Finally, I would like to give a special thanks to the Rector of Tadulako University, the Head of Local Committee, and all SBMPTN committee in Tadulako University for the hard work in preparing and organizing SBMPTN 2017 so it has been successfully completed,” said Prof. Nasir.
Additionally, the Rector, Prof. Basir Cyio appreciated the visitation of the Minister and team to Tadulako University despite their busy schedule.
“We would also like to say our deepest gratitude to The Indonesian Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Directorate General of Higher Education’s Director of Learning and Student Affairs, the Head of National Committee of SN-SBMPTN, and team who has decided Tadulako University as the destination for this year visitation,” said Prof. Basir Cyio.
