Commemorating Indonesian Independence Day, Tadulako University (Untad) Welcomes 9,080 New Students Class of 2022

Commemorating the 77th Indonesian Independence Day as well as the opening of the 2022  Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB), Tadulako University (Untad) on Wednesday (17/08/2022) held a flag ceremony which was attended by the entire Untad academic community and 9,080 new students at the Untad Ceremony Field. .

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ir. Mahfudz, MP, as the Rector read the remarks of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek) regarding the struggle for independence which has been recorded in the history where we must not stop moving and moving forward.

“Especially this year, we commemorate the 77th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in 2022 with the spirit of Recovering Faster, Rising Stronger,” said Prof. Mahfudz reading the remarks of the Minister of Education and Technology.


He said that we are currently proving together through the G20 presidency in 2022, regarding the big role of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in garnering global collaboration to work together to restore and revive the education system.

“We have also convinced the world that the young generation of Indonesia has been trained in the world of work and social life, the provisions of which have been obtained since college through various off-campus learning programs that are gathered in the Merdeka Campus,” said Prof. Mahfudz.

To the new students, Prof. Mahfudz asked to instill Tadulako Muda’s (Leadership Spirit) soul within himself. He also asked the new students to be proud of their alma mater jacket.

“All fields of science have a future, don’t feel superior to others. Build togetherness to advance Untad. Once again, welcome and welcome to the big Untad family.” Add Prof. Mahfudz.

Prof. Mahfudz also asked all student leaders and administrators of student institutions to provide the best provisions for students, especially the transformation process towards an independent campus.

After the Rector’s remarks, the event continued with the symbolic use of the alma mater to representatives of New Students as well as the appearance of the Untad Marching Band and the opening of the 2022 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) where each Dean, Dean representatives per faculty and institution representatives were introduced to the new batch of students 2022.
