Faculty of Forestry Universitas Tadulako Held International Seminar About Forest Ecosystem in Central Sulwesi

Took place at Theater Hall Universitas Tadulako, Faculty of Forestry held International Seminar with theme “Heart of Celebes : Development and Research On Sustainable Forest Ecosystem Services in Celebes”. The seminar which was held on October 20th 2016 invited experts from inside and outside Indonesia, such as Prof. Roger D. Finlay from Swedish University of Agricultural Science, Prof. Dr. Ir Mustafa Agung Sarjono from Universitas Mulawarman and Prof. Dr. EKS Harini Muntasib, M.S from Institut Pertanian Bogor.

The atmosphere from International Seminar which was held by Faculty of Forestry Universitas Tadulako on October 20th 2016

During the International Seminar, the lecturer gave some important points about forestry ecosystem in Sulawesi such as Social Forestry from Sociological Aspects of the Humid Tropics in Indonesia, Forest Ecotourism Governance dan Ectomycorrhizal Fungi and Ecosystem Service in Boreal and Temperate Forest. The theme of the seminar covers forestry social and economy problem, forestry resource conservation and forestry tourism potential got so much appreciation from many seminar participant that came from different region such as Palembang, Banten, South Sulawesi, included Universitas Muhamadiah Sulteng, Forestry Service of Central Sulawesi, Lore Lindu National Park Community, and Togean Island National Park Team.

Dr. Sc. Agr. Yusran S.P M.P the vice dean of Academic Field Faculty of Forestry and also as chairman of the committee said that the purpose of this International Seminar is to provide a vessel and forum for researcher, practitioner, lecturer, college studen and every people who wants to enrich and digging their knowledge in forest ecosystem in Sulawesi especially Central Sulawesi.

In other hand, this International Seminar continued with field trip to visit Lore Lindu National Park, to observe megaliths site. After that the field trip continued by visiting Tambing Lake by the participant and the lecturer of International Seminar. This field trip have been started on October 21st 2016 and already ended on October 22nd 2016.
