Research Institute of the University of Tadulako started up in conjunction with the University berdirinnya Tadulako independently after regardless of status branch of the University of Hasanuddin (UNHAS) and the Institute of Teacher Training and Education (Teachers’ Training College) Ujung Pandang on August 14, 1981 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 36 of 1981 About Establishment Tadulako.

Institute for Research when it existed as a Research Institute, with Dra.Nurhayati Nainggolan as Head of the Research Institute of the first (1981-1985), followed by Drs. Bachri Amir Ali as head of the Research Institute of the second (1985-1989). In the period 1989-1994, UNTAD Research Center led by Ir. Muh.Yasaf A. Koddang, MS, as Head of the third. Based on the Ministry of Education and Kebuidayaan No. 0115 / O / 93 Hall of research has changed its status to a Research Institute as of December 31, 1994 and chaired by Drs. Muhammad Daris Mattoreang, M.S. as Chairman of the Research Institute of the fourth for the period 1994-1998. Subsequently replaced by Drs. Amir Tahawila, MS for the period 1998-2002 as the fifth chairman of the research institute. On 28 November 2002 dilantiklah Ir.TAM Tilaar, M.Si as chairman of the sixth research institutions for the period 2002-2007. H. Arifuddin Bidin sworn in as Chairman of the Research Institute of the seventh by decree. Rector No. 1787 / H28 / KP / 2007 dated April 30, 2007. Furthermore, on May 20, 2009 Ir. H.M. Galib Isaac inaugurated as Chairman of the Research Institute of the University of Tadulako with Rector of University Tadulako Kepoutusan Letter No. 2053 / H28 / KP / 2009 April 13, 2009, then on May 2, 2011 Prof. Dr. Sultan, M.Si inaugurated by Rector of the University Tadulako as Chairman of the Research Institute under the decree No. 2307 / UN28 / KP / 2011 dated April 28, 2011 until now.

Vision and mission

Vision and Mission Research Institute of the University of Tadulako of course refers to and supports the vision of the University as their parent institutions. Then vision UNTAD Research Institute is: “Making research institutions as a reliable institution in realizing community service through an integrated research and development”.

Then mission UNTAD Research Institute is “Implementing the community service-based research and development in an integrated manner to deliver the human resources that have extensive scientific insights, competitive, dedicated, independent, and professional”.
